Q: Why did I receive this ID card?
A: As a NovaSys Health member you received this new ID card because of a
recent change in Arkansas law. This new law called, Any Willing Provider, caused NovaSys Health to create a new network of providers and required NovaSys Health to accept virtually any provider that met our credentialing standards.
Q: What is this new network called and how is it identified?
A: This new network is called NovaSys Health Choice and it is identified on your new NovaSys Health ID card with a NovaSys Health Choice logo.
Q: What should I do with my old card?
A: Once you have received your new ID card please destroy your old ID card to prevent fraudulent use of the card. Make sure you present your new ID card the next time you visit a provider's office as it will assist the provider in determining your benefits and filing claims.
Q: What is the effective date of the NovaSys Health Choice network?
A: The NovaSys Health Choice network is effective October 1, 2005.
Q: Will the same providers in the old network be in the NovaSys Health Choice network?
A: At this time yes. However, as is always the case, provider participation status can change. Always ask your provider about his or her status with Novasys Health and feel free to call the customer service number located on the back of the ID card.
Q: Will my benefits change because of this?
A: No.
Q: Are all providers automatically part of the NovaSys Health network?
A: No. Providers who in the past have not been in the Novasys Health network must request participation in the NovaSys Health Choice network and must meet the Credentialing standards of the NovaSys Health in order to participate.
Q: How long does it take to become part of the network?
A: Assuming all things follow the standard process it usually takes anywhere from 30 to 90 days for participation to be effective.
Q: What happens if I go to a non-par provider?
A: Consult your Summary Plan Document for benefit levels or call the customer service number located on the back of your ID card.
